Owner operator of Taupo Farm And Game Meat Processors. Hayden has been a butcher since leaving school, doing his butchery apprenticeship at New World in Whakatane. He learned the basics of the trade, including breaking down whole carcasses, making sausages, and cutting steaks, before leaving to work on the family farm for a year. The butchery drew him back, getting a job at Plains Butchery in Edgecumbe as a homekill butcher, learning the art of slaughtering and furthering his knowledge in the butchery environment. After 18 months, he moved to Nelson, where he worked as a boner in the meat works for 6 years, also working in homekill and pet food processing part-time. Before taking over Taupo Farm And Game, he developed a well-rounded knowledge of the butchery trade and will go the extra mile to make customers happy. “I can make anything you want, and if I don’t know, I will find out.”
